The picture below was taken at the beginning of senior year, when we all thought we were really cool because we officially had taken control of the senior lounge (this little couch and some chairs in a little cubicle in the middle of our school that we can only sit in during the mornings), we got to leave for lunch five minutes early, and we got the big pictures in the yearbook. That all seemed too good to be true. Turns out it was, because now all we think about is leaving!
Now don't get me wrong, Galileo is the best school in the world, and some of my fondest memories were spent there. Part of me doesn't want to leave there. Part of all of us, despite the comments some of us make more than others. I know that we'll all miss Anatomy class, and maybe even miss reading a book for 90 minutes a day during senior English.
Lately I've been having this reoccuring dream. I dream that my parents pick me up out of nowhere and make me move to San Diego. I spend the dream making phone calls and trying to get money to get back to Danville because all I want is to be with my friends, and I wouldn't dream of graduating with any other class. I repeat in my dream "But Mr.Lawrence has to graduate me!" He's our principal, and he's retiring after this year. Now, you've never met a principal like him. EVERYONE loves Mr. Lawrence. All the teachers, all the students. Even Clayton admits he's amazing. He's one of those people that you just want everyone to meet.
I'll miss hearing him say "Good morning, Miss Miller!"
But then again, to get an idea of how all of seniors feel by now...just look at this picture...
