I went to the North Theatre recently for a show.
I walked in and took my seat in the audience, and all I could thing about at first was all the wonderful times I've had there and how much I love that place. It still smells like a new building four years later. I instantly remembered the notes to "Rosalind" hanging on the lobby mirrors, and the countless trips up and down the stairs for costume changes. I remember all the chaos, all the work, all the passion, and I couldn't help but miss it. I could almost see my director scolding us for not having enough energy in rehersal, and I could almost see myself taking my final bow.
The first time I went there to perform in a play I felt like I was really part of something major.
This isn't a high school auditorium, this is a REAL theatre. A public theatre that we paid to rent with our hard earned money from fundraisers and other shows. Three years later, moving in to the theatre for a show with Galileo one last time, it felt just as special.
My first play at the North- Romeo and Julie. I was fourteen.
but no picture for that one at the moment.
My first big role!
Lady Pirates of Captian Bree.
that's unfortunately that was my real hair and it took forever to do that to it.

hey beautiful, you are very lucky to have so many wonderful memories like this :) I tried to think of something fabulous to write, but it all sounded too cheesy so I'll just stop there. LOL
Laura, that's a really cool blog posting. Your reflecting back on your time at the North Theatre was very interesting to read. I'm so proud of you. I saw most of your plays there, and watching you grow and excel in your art has been thrilling. When will see you there again? Are you going to get involved with the Little Theatre or whatever it is called in Danville?
Uncle Pat
I'm thinking about it, but not sure yet. I think DCC is coming up with a theatre program, and that would be really cool. =]
I'm glad you've come to see my plays. It means a lot to me.
love you.
Laura, I'm so bummed that I haven't been able to see your plays. I LOVE drama! Just ask your mom. My drama days are some of my fondest memories even now. And I didn't have anywhere near the leading roles that you have had. Totally cool.
